Users Rights
The
NSW Rape Crisis Centre recognises the personal worth and individuality
of service users and supports each person's right to access a non
judgemental, respectful, consultative and transparent service.
Service
Users have the right:
- to
be treated with dignity, compassion and respect;
- to
be listened and responded to;
- to
be offered a non-judgemental service;
- to
have culture, class, age, ability and sexual preference respected;
- to
be informed of the agency's services and consulted in the development
of the case management plan;
- to
be, within the confines and limitations of the agency, offered
confidentiality and privacy;
- to
be provided with information about other services, remedies and
options; and
- to
complain when it is felt that the service which is provided has
not been appropriate.
Service
Users Responsibilities
When
accessing NSW Rape Crisis Centre services, the Centre requests that
service users:
- access
the service for interventions relating to sexual violence;
- be
non-threatening or aggressive to centre workers;
- be
truthful and forthcoming with personal details when consulted
in the development phase of a case management plan;
- be
realistic in the setting of case goals and work toward the achievement
of those goals;
- abide
by boundaries set in the case management plan;
- provide
feedback and evaluation to the organisation;
- provide
non-identifying statistical data to the organisation for accountability
purposes; and
- participate
in the referral process to local face to face services.
