NSW Rape
Crisis Centre has developed a half day workshop for those who
are not counsellor trained but, in the course of their work, may
be required to assist someone who has been sexually assaulted.
Learning
Objectives
- To be able to respond
appropriately and with compassion to someone who discloses sexual
assault,
- To develop an understanding
how a person who has been sexually assault may present, and
- To increase capacity
to provide immediate support and appropriate referral.

assault in NSW
- Impacts of sexual
assault
- Do’s and don’ts
when responding to someone who has been sexually assaulted, and
- Getting help
Referral information
to the NSW Rape Crisis Centre and specialist sexual assault services
in the participant’s area is included in the information kit
provided to each attendee.
This workshop is not
designed to offer training in sexual assault counselling.
If you have particular
requirements at your workplace, the workshop can be designed to
meet individual needs. Participants can be from one workplace or
a number of services.
You
organise the venue, we will do the presentation.
Cost:
$40 per participant with a maximum of 20 participants. Minimum fee
is $500. Additional charges apply for workshops outside the Sydney
metropolitan area.
