FREE
half day information forums for front line workers in Rural NSW
on how to respond to someone who has been sexually assaulted.
This forum
will be useful for Neighbourhood Centres, Community, Youth and
other NGO Workers, front line workers in government health and
welfare services and private sector workers in health care and
hairdressing.
The forums
are sponsored by the Law and Justice Foundation of NSW.
Objectives
- To be able to respond
appropriately and with compassion to someone who discloses sexual
assault,
- To develop an understanding
how a person who has been sexually assault may present, and
- To increase capacity
to provide immediate support and appropriate referral.

of sexual assault
- Incidences of sexual
assault in NSW
- Impacts of sexual
assault
- Do’s and don’ts
when responding to someone who has been sexually assaulted, and
- Getting help
Referral information
to the NSW Rape Crisis Centre and specialist sexual assault services
in the participant’s area will be provided at the forums.
The information forum
is not designed to offer training in sexual assault counselling.
Free
Information Forums in the South West NSW region will
be held in September 2009.

finalised so please check again for details and registration forms.
